Dental practice software 2026: Gesden, Clinic Cloud, Dentalink and Nubimed, no smoke
The comparison almost nobody gets right: four systems used by clinics in Catalonia, what each one delivers and what they don't tell you.
If you run a clinic, your day runs through the practice software: schedule, clinical records, treatment plans, billing. It's the tool you use most and compare least — and the SERPs for «dental software» are full of agency blogs selling their own thing. This post is the comparison I couldn't find done properly: four systems with real presence in Catalonia, no affiliations, and the prices that are published (and the ones that aren't).

Two generations in the same market
The veteran: desktop programs with decades behind them, installed on the clinic's computer, with very deep clinical records. The newcomer: cloud software, no installations, from the browser, with monthly subscriptions. It's not a battle of good vs evil: it's a clinic decision — and each generation has its place.
Gesden — the veteran (Infomed)
Over 25 years in the Spanish market and, by its own figures, around 14,000 clinics. Its strength is clinical depth: a detailed odontogram by tooth and surface, integration with radiology equipment, an orthodontics module with cephalometry, multi-surgery and multi-site scheduling, and very complete treatment-plan and finance management. Its weakness is the flip side: a less modern interface, slow updates, and its classic model is licence-based (high upfront cost) — though it now has a cloud version (Gesden ONE). The price isn't published: you have to ask for a quote.
Clinic Cloud — the cloud with marketing built in
The cloud option designed for small and medium clinics: a clean interface, easy to learn, and a CRM with marketing included — reminders, campaigns, loyalty — which is an extra in other systems. Published plans from around €27-29/month (the full odontogram sits in higher plans) and a documented API to integrate it with other tools. Its limit: less clinical depth than the veteran — enough for most, short for highly specialised clinics.
Dentalink — SaaS at a good price
A 100% cloud subscription model, with strong financial control and an entry plan around €49/month according to public 2026 guides. It fits clinics that are starting out or on a tight budget. The trade-off: less proven track record in complex environments (groups, multi-site) and less complete advanced billing than Gesden.
Nubimed — cloud with published prices
The most transparent of the four: it publishes its plans — Lite €27.40/month and Premium €50.10/month — with unlimited reception users included, odontogram, video consultations and a patient portal. Billing adapted to Spanish rules (Verifactu, TicketBAI) sits in the Premium plan. An honest middle option: no smoke, what you need, without paying for what you don't use.
What matters beyond the software
Three things nobody looks at until they hurt. Migration: they all export at least CSV, but moving clinical records from one system to another is a project — ask before switching. The API: Clinic Cloud has it documented, Gesden works with integrations limited to partners, and some offer webhooks; if you want the website to talk to your schedule, this decides it. And the contract: your clinical records belong to your patients and to you — get it in writing that the data exports the day you leave.
And the point almost nobody connects: the software does NOT make your website public. Gesden, Clinic Cloud, Dentalink or Nubimed manage the schedule of people who are already your patients; the website is what brings new patients in — and what should be writing bookings straight into that schedule. A website with a booking button that syncs with your software is the piece that joins the two: the person who finds you on Google at 11pm books without calling, and the appointment lands in your schedule by itself.
The clinic that wins isn't the one with the best software: it's the one whose website and software talk to each other. The first manages the schedule; the second fills it.
